Since 2007, The Prudential Foundation and Victoria Foundation have hosted the Annual Nonprofit Capacity Building Conference (CBC) to specifically address the needs of their grantees. With a unique opportunity, the 2013 CBC will be held jointly with the Alliance for Nonprofit Management (Alliance) at the NJIT facilities in Newark, NJ. The Prudential Foundation and Victoria Foundation welcome US Trust and the New Jersey Health Initiatives as a 2013 Conference Sponsor and seek participation and sponsorship from other local, regional, and national funders to this event. Nonprofit Capacity Building Conference: August 7, 2013
This day is focused on the nonprofit organization – from the leadership (staff and board) perspective. What are the skills I need to effectively run my organization? How can I help support leadership development of our staff? Where are the financial pitfalls that other comparable nonprofits fell into and where can I get guidance to be strategic? How can we (re)build the board/CEO relationship? What does governance mean and how is it put in practice in our organization? We can’t seem to find the fundraising silver bullet; now what?
Alliance for Nonprofit Management Conference: August 8-9, 2013
These days are focused on lessons learned, new practices and sharing information from nonprofit experts around the country to help improve the effectiveness of individuals, groups, and organizations. These discussions are based on experiences as well as data collected on various initiatives to help nonprofits and communities across the U.S. learn from each other, yet apply lessons and data with a tailored, local approach.

Unique to this annual conference is the opportunity for nonprofit leaders to hear from and discuss with Management Support Organization (MSO) professionals about specific issues.MSO partners include Rutgers Institute for Ethical Leadership, Nonprofit Finance Fund, Support Center for Nonprofit Management, Partnership in Philanthropy, Pro Bono Partnership, and Center for Non-Profits. This collaborative group leads this entire conference. This annual Capacity Building Conference is provided by The Prudential Foundation & the Victoria Foundation for the benefit of their grantees.
