The Train of Lights has been a long-standing tradition for many families for more than a decade. This year, our Dome Observation Car, x-ATSF 505, will be Reserved Seating, with snacks served in the car, and car attendants.
Dome Car passage includes snacks, beverages served by the Dome Car attendants and time-sharing the upper and lower seats in the dome car during the trip. Enjoy the upper dome seats westbound toward Niles, or Eastbound toward Sunol and experience the club seating on the lower level during your other leg of the trip. Your car attendant will be your tour guide.
On these late trains from Sunol, this ride is all about the lights! You will board mid-train, and see the bright decorations in the different coaches on your way to the Dome Car, with snacks and drinks included with your ticket.
Our antique coaches and our open cars are decorated for the season, inside and out, and our Dome Car passengers will be able to wander through the entire train during the ride.
You get to experience the festive lighted decorations glowing inside and outside of our antique cars while enjoying the holiday music and some refreshments. The open cars offers a a treat for the senses, with an unobstructed view of the skies, and the scents of the winter wilderness in the air.
We sometimes have last-minute tickets available! Come to the station an hour before the train and ask the station agent to add you to the waiting list for that day. We'll also tweet about day-of-train ticket availability, if you want to follow @toots4ncry.
Please read our Frequently Asked Questions page, since we will have answers to questions that you may not have thought about yet. :-)
