The International Association of Panoramic Photographers (IAPP) is proud to announce that their next Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn, Everett, WA, beginning Sunday, April 14, 2013. Whether you’re shooting with a Circkut or Fuji film camera, or using your digital camera and software to stitch panoramas, this Conference will excite your imagination, improve your skills, and stretch your thinking in new directions, through presentations by some of the industry’s leaders and visionaries, by shooting alongside passionate photographers who helped to write the book on contemporary panoramic techniques, and by seeing the work of your peers on display in the 2013 IAPP Photo Competition.

Glowing Sands

The focus of the presentations will take us from traditional panoramas to HDR panos, extended focus panoramas, fisheye panoramas, gigapan or mosaic panoramas, to 360VR panoramas, and beyond!! While the speaker lineup hasn’t been finalized, yet, there will be ample opportunity to ask questions, participate in discussions with your fellow attendees—in short, this will be a total immersion learning experience beginning as soon as you arrive on Sunday, lasting to the final presentation Wednesday evening, April 17!!

 Red Tulip Fields

Be sure to bring your camera gear!! We’ve scheduled a full day’s excursion from Everett into the Skagit Valley, which is expected to be awash in blooming tulips and other flowering bulbs, then, on to the historic village of La Conner. After lunch, we’ll continue on to Deception Pass State Park and Mt Erie Park, before visiting the old mill town of Anacortes. From here we’ll head back towards Everett via Fir Island, for the opportunity to see fields full of snow geese and catch the best ice cream to be found anywhere!! There will also be an opportunity to catch an industrial scene in a dusk/dark scenario—this could also be an excellent HDR subject. During the Conference, you will also have the time to explore the Everett area on your own for sunrise and sunset captures. And, should you arrive early or stay late, there is an exciting and colorful world awaiting, from the San Juan Islands and Olympic National Park to the west, Seattle and Tacoma to the south, Mt Ranier and North Cascades National Parks to the east, to Vancouver and Canada to the north.

The Pacific Northwest is famous for its fresh and tasty cuisine, and we’ll be sampling as much as we can during our visit, including fresh seafood, fusion Mediterranean, and Northwest influenced Italian, to name a few. Other than breakfast, there should be no excuse for an ordinary meal. And what better way to learn more about what we’re all passionate about, than to share a meal with equally passionate devotees of panoramic photography?

After registering, reserve your room at the Holiday Inn now by calling 425-339-2000 or 866-700-1188. Just be sure to mention that you are with the International Association of Panoramic Photographers to take advantage of our specially reduced room rate of $99 per night (plus applicable taxes, of course). While it may seem that most conferences are put together for a select few, this one can reflect your interests and needs very specifically. Please feel free to contact the Conference Chairman with what you’d like to see covered in the presentations. Should you have a presentation which might be appropriate in your hip pocket, that would also be welcome information. We have reserved a limited number of opportunities for 20 to 30 minute presentations—we just need to know of your desire to present to your peers.
