We have sold all our tickets. However, due to demand, we may have an extremely limited number of extra seats available due to last-minute cancellations, etc. Since we will only know the exact number of available extra seats  at the event itself, these extra tickets will only be available at the door, space permitting, on a first-come, first-serve basis starting at 6pm.


On behalf of the planning committee for the 2013 Health Activist Dinner at the 141st Annual Meeting of the American Public Health Association, we invite you to join us on Sunday, November 3rd, 2013 from 6 to 9 PM in Boston. Register today then click here to visit the event website.

Join us as we honor our special speakers and 2013 award winners.Sir Michael Marmot MD PhD, the winner of the 2013 Barsky Award is former Chair of the WHO Commission on the Social Determinants of Health. Brian Smedley PhD, the winner of the 2013 Cornely Award, is Vice President and Director of the Health Policy Institute of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies in Washington, DC. Senator Elizabeth Warren and former Congressman Barney Frank are co-recipients of the 2013 Wellstone Award. We also look forward to presenting the 2013 Student Health Activist Award at the dinner!

The Health Activist Dinner is a 30+ year tradition that highlights and celebrates activism for social justice in the field of health and provides a social atmosphere for the interaction of multiple generations of health activists. We expect approximately 120 attendees at this year’s dinner.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Students purchasing a discounted ticket must show valid Student ID at the door. 

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Public parking is available close to the restaurant.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, but only before Oct 31st. Please email event organizer (see above) with request for a ticket transfer.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

We expect a large turnout and strongly recommend that you bring a printed copy of your ticket to the event to expedite the check-in process at the door and get you inside to the Dinner!
