2013 GW Business Plan Competition Finals
Event Information
Description
The George Washington University and the GW Office of Entrepreneurship
are pleased to invite you to the
2013 GW Business Plan Competition Finals
where you will witness the distribution of over $60,000 in cash prizes among the strongest and most innovative GW entrepreneurs!
Our university's namesake, George Washington, was one of America's first great entrepreneurs. At GW, we honor his bold business leadership by showcasing the university's commitment to providing the resources for future entrepreneurs to learn from current ones. Thus, the GW Business Plan Competition, with founding sponsorship from Annette and Richard Scott, awards over $60,000 in cash prizes to teams of GW students, faculty, and alumni who can offer innovative ideas for new products and/or services. Additional in-kind prizes, several thousands of dollars worth, are also available to our competitors. This academic year, we celebrate five (5) years from the creation of the program! Happy Birthday to our team, and good luck to all current and future participants!
The GW Business Plan Competition Finals
The GW Business Plan Competition Finals are the culmination of an academic-year-long series of educational events and active mentorship on new venture creation. This year, we received 109 first-round entries in January from 12 of the schools comprising GW. From those initial submissions, only 35 were invited to write full business plans in the semi-final round, and from them, only 8 teams made it to the GW Business Plan Competition finals. These 8 finalists will present their business plans and ideas to a panel of distinguished entrepreneurs, investors, venture capitalists, and GW alumni.
