Event Details

Join us for our 2nd Annual Grains Research Tour at Borderview Research Farm in Alburgh, Vermont!

Julie Dawson, a postdoctoral research associate at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, will cover the basics of on-farm variety trials and variety selection for wheat and other small grains. Researchers and farmers who have been participating in on-farm trials and selection will describe their experiences and provide practical guidance.  This is a great opportunity to learn new information and get involved yourself!

We will also be touring our over 1,000 research plots including spring and winter wheat, heirloom wheat, spring and winter barley, flax and oats.

Come and taste breads made with wheat from our heirloom variety trials.  Tasting will be led by Randy George of Red Hen Baking Company.
