Description
What: 1st Annual Bar & Beach Scavenger Hunt
Where: Hermosa Beach, Starting at 15th & Strand (Starts at the Beach!)
When: Saturday, September 28 from 11am-5pm
How: Form a team of up to 6 friends and scour the beach, pier, and bars for clues to earn the most points to win prizes. Compete for $1,500, $1,000, and $500 in prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place!! (Minimum of 4 players per team, and we'll put together individuals who want to be on a co-ed team of 6. Must be 21 years or older to participate.)

DETAILS: Booze-N-Clues launches with several beach contests at the Strand & 15th Street in Hermosa. Once complete, your team moves on to tasks between the bars and landmarks of the Hermosa Pier area. A few of the many activities will include:

RULES & GUIDELINES
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 21 – otherwise you can’t enter the bars participating in the event!
REGISTRATION: Advanced registration is required. Each team must pre-designate a Team Captain, who will receive additional special instructions. Each player must show their ID and sign a waiver at check-in at The Strand and 15th Street in Hermosa Beach between 10:30am and 11:00am on September 28th. Being late will hurt your team’s chances of completing the event and winning the prizes for top teams!
DRINKING: You can substitute a non-alcoholic beverage at any time in place of beer, shots, or other alcoholic beverages suggested at the participating bars. Acceptable alternatives include soda, diet soda, or juice. Only one water per team can be used as a non-alcoholic beverage substitute for drink-involved contests. Please designate a sober driver for your team!
EVENT RULES: Each team at Booze-N-Clues will consist of a minimum of 4 players, maximum of 6. This is NOT a "race" where the winning team is that which crosses the finish line first. Instead, the winning team will be the one that collects the most points during the event. Points are collected by participating in each contest or event. Extra points are awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best finishes in certain contests and events. Bonus points can be obtained by successfully completing special tasks during the scavenger hunt. Teams with the top three point totals will win the first, second, and third place prize packages. If there is a tie between these teams, or whenever a tie breaker is needed in certain contests, then a best 3 out of 5 Canadian Roshambo contest will be held between the Captains (or their delegates) of each team.

Q: What do the WINNING TEAMS get?
A: Prize packages worth $1,500, $1,000, and $500 will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams to share! Q: What is the latest time I can register for this event? Can I register in person?
A: You can register until 11am online or in person at the event on September 28, provided it's not yet sold out.
Q: Is my team required to wear costumes?
A: No, but it slightly increases your chances of winning the first place prize.
Q: What if there are more than 6 of us that want to participate together?
A: Form two separate teams. Each team needs at least 4 people.
Q: What if I can't get enough people to team up with?
A: We will match you up with others to form co-ed teams of like-aged individuals
Q: Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
A: Yes, you must be 21 and show ID during registration and at every bar you enter during the event!
Q: What are my parking options for the event?
A: There's a large parking structure on the corner of Hermosa Ave. & 11th St, a parking lot on the corner of Hermosa Ave. & 13th St., and various metered street parking throughout the Hermosa Pier area.

Q: Do I have to bring a printed ticket to the event?
A: No, just bring your identification. We will have your information at the registration desk at 15th & Strand in Hermosa Beach on the day of the event.
