Important Information

  • Volunteers need to be ages 12 and up (8 and up must be supervised by a parent).
  • Volunteers MUST commit to work a minimum of TWO SHIFTS for the weekend.
  • All volunteers receive one t-shirt the entire weekend so if you are working multiple days, please make sure to wear your shirt the following day(s).
  • It is preferred that volunteers wear tan shorts, beach sandals and a hat. Plan for the weather accordingly if its cold or going to rain.
  • Volunteers should wear plenty of sunscreen. Don’t forget to bring it with you!
  • Lunch and drinks will be provided.
  • If there is an unexpected change in weather conditions (rain, wind, etc.), it is required that you stay until your shift is over even if play is suspended. Play may resume at anytime.
  • Please note that while the volunteer coordinator makes every effort to match you with your position preferences, volunteer positions are on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Volunteers will have plenty of time to interact, get autographs and take pictures with the pro athletes in between matches.

Positions Available

  1. Ball Shagger: Work directly with the professional athletes and AVP Officials to chase down the balls and hand them to the AVP players before each serve.
  2. Score Keeper: Work directly with the AVP Officials to update the electronic and flip score boards.
  3. Live Scorekeepers: ADULT JOB. Use walkie talkies to relay scores on outer courts to our media center to keep scores online up to date.

About Manchester City Football Club
Manchester City FC is an English Premier League club initially founded in 1880 as St Mark’s West Gorton. It officially became Manchester City FC in 1894 and has since then gone onto win the European Cup Winners’ Cup, four League Championship titles, including two Premier League titles (2012, 2014), and five FA Cups. Manchester City FC is one of four teams comprising the City Football Group and counts New York City FC and Melbourne City FC among its sister clubs.

Under manager Pep Guardiola, one of the most highly decorated managers in world football, the Club plays its domestic and UEFA Champions League home fixtures at the Etihad Stadium, a spectacular 55,000 seat arena that City have called home since 2003. Today, the Stadium sits on the wider Etihad Campus, which also encompasses the City Football Academy, a state-of-the-art performance training and youth development facility located in the heart of East Manchester. Featuring a 7,000 capacity Academy Stadium, the City Football Academy is also where Manchester City Women’s Football Club and the Elite Development Squad train on a daily basis and play their competitive home games.
