When & Where
Design Trust for Public Space
The Design Trust for Public Space is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing design innovation to New York City's public spaces to make a more dynamic, livable and sustainable city. We believe that a vibrant public realm is essential to the cultural and democratic life of our city.
We are the nonprofit that jumpstarted the High Line; helped bring about New York’s first custom-built Taxi of Tomorrow; and developed the sustainability guidelines that became the precursor to PlaNYC, the city’s first sustainability master plan. Now we’re launching Under the Elevated, a new initiative to reimagine and reclaim the millions of square feet underneath New York City's elevated highways, subways and rail lines.
