The Illinois Energy Office - Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity houses the Illinois State Energy & Recycling Office. The Energy Office administers a portfolio of programs designed to invest in the development of Illinois' green economy, including programs that target renewable energy resources, recycling and waste reduction, energy efficiency projects, 2012 IECC compliance evaluation and technical assistance, bio-fuels production and green manufacturing. The U.S. State Energy Program (SEP) is an important source of funding for these investments which allow the Illinois Energy Office to assist Illinois citizens, communities, non-profits, businesses, industry, and other government agencies to become more energy efficient.
