Creative Portland invites you to a social networking "welcome wagon" event for creatives!

After a year hiatus, 2 Degrees returns on June 18th at Ocean Gateway with new sponsors Live + Work in Maine and People's United Bank, and a new steering committee of diverse community members, including Creative Portland Board of Directors plus reps from professional sports teams, Sea Dogs and Red Claws, Portland Museum of Art, MEMIC, Think Tank & The Public Works, both co-worker organizations, higher ed institutions - MECA, UNE & USM - and various immigrant networks!

Creative Portland invites you to our first social mixer of 2019, specifically designed for creative networking and celebrating our vibrant creative economy. Join us to connect with newcomers, build relationships, and celebrate Portland's creative & entrepreneurial spirit. Age 21+

Reaching out into Casco Bay and welcoming newcomers to Portland, Ocean Gateway is the City’s waterfront jewel. The spectacular setting of islands and water enhance the beauty of the architecture which was designed to resemble the prow of a ship.

2 Degrees is graciously sponsored by Live + Work in Maine and People's United Bank.

Beer by Rising Tide Brewing Company. Treats by Two Fat Cats Bakery.

This event will immediately follow the Portland Arts & Culture Summit, presented by Creative Portland in collaboration with the City of Portland and sponsored by Thompson's Point, Cove Street Arts, Start Up Maine and Live + Work in Maine. Summit participants include artists, cultural organizations, and community stakeholders interested in cultural plan implementation and and sustaining the cultural life of Portland. The summit will include panelists, speakers, best practice consultants and community input in addressing three strategic priorities:

  1. branding Portland as a Creative Center,
  2. increasing visibility of artists and makers through showcases and professional development, and
  3. securing affordable live/work space for artists of all genres.

Private investors and angel investors are are also invited to hear about impact arts investment opportunities and to learn more about how the arts are an economic engine, boosting the creative economy.
