Description

This session is now closed, but check out our August session here: goo.gl/71TQ4z

How do you keep your project from falling short in delivering client (internal or external) needs on time, and within budget? How do you adjust when client needs are often changing? The software development industry is embracing Agile development methods to address these issues and there is much that the elearning development world can learn from them. Agile provides a framework for authorizing adapting to change as it happens, and working with the client to deliver the content most-needed by learners. TorranceLearning has adapted Agile for instructional design and development projects – we call it the LLAMA (the Lot Like Agile Methods Approach).

Participants in this session will learn about the Agile project management methods we’ve adapted and how our project teams actually use them on the job. We’ll talk about the tools & supplies you need, how to choose a project to pilot, and how we train our team. Learn how Agile techniques improve centralizing information, keeping a project on track, tracking hours and resources more easily, and defining clear and measureable job tasks. We do this in the classroom with hands-on, minds-on activities that participants can apply to their actual work. This lets them grapple with the questions Agile raises in a real-work situation. It then aids in transfer to the job afterward because the hard work of getting started has already happened in the classroom.
