The Providence Cultural Equity Initiative's Institute for Social Cohesion, Global Cultural Understanding and Economic Development (G CUED) and the Offices of Community, Equity and Diversity & Professional Studies and Continuing Education at Rhode Island College cordially invite you to attend the 1st Annual Living Culture Indigeneity Conference (LCIC).

Taking place Thursday September 21st through Saturday September 23rd, 2017 at Rhode Island College's Faculty Dining Center South, the theme of the 3 day conference is Pan-Indigeneity in the 21st Century. The 1st Annual LCIC will focus on the complexity of pan-indigenous identities, explore ongoing efforts to promote pan-indigenous economic development, and be held in honor of the United Nations' Annual Day of Peace.

The 1st Annual LCIC will feature a nonviolence workshop, panel discussions, a cultural convening, a US Census data workshop, and will also support the RI State Council on the Arts 2017 State Native American Art Exhibit (http://www.arts.ri.gov/about/directions) HigherGround International's 5th Annual Cultural Gala and Village Leader Award (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/higher-ground-international-5th-annual-cultural-gala-village-leader-award-tickets-36644262977) and the Peace Flag Project's 2017 RI Peace Fest (http://thepeaceflagproject.org/2017-month-of-peace-ri-peacefest/).

The 1st Annual LCIC events begin at 9:30am on both Thursday and Friday and at 12pm on Saturday. Attendance is limited to the first 50 registrants on Thursday and Friday and is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided on Thursday and Friday for all registered attendees.

The 1st Annual Living Culture Indigeneity Conference is sponsored by the Federation of Aboriginal Nations of America, the Peace Flag Project and the US Census Bureau, with support from the RI State Council on the Arts, HigherGround International and Practico Innovations.
