About this event
Enriching the lives of young people, families and communities drives the mission of the Legacy International Foundation for Education (LIFE). We are a 501c3 non-profit organization that works to enhance the quality of life for youth by increasing their access to educational resources.
Our scholarship program, Legacy Scholars, supports the academic aspirations of young students in Liberia, West Africa. The program’s goal is to improve the quality of life for young people low income, under-resourced and underdeveloped communities by increasing their access to quality education environments and wrap around services.
Students ranging from grades 1 to 8 are selected via a lottery process during an annual Back to School Jam held in Paynesville, Liberia. They must reside in the Pipeline Community of Paynesville, Liberia and attend or be interested in attending M&J FUTURES LEADERS INSTITUTE.
Programming support includes the cost of tuition, fees, uniforms and education supplies for one academic year. Wrap around support may be provided on a need’s basis (i.e., food, transportation, housing, etc.).
