Black Professional Men, Inc. (BPM) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Baltimore, Maryland and established in 1991 to address the social, economic and political awareness needs of the African-American community, especially those of the African-American male.  For a more in depth look at the work, programs, and events sponsored by BPM we encourage you to visit our website at www.blackprofessionalmen.org

There is unity in the community!  BPM strongly believes that if we work together as a community to provide the necessary resources and support needed, in the most efficient and economical way possible, together we can combat some of the socioeconomic barriers that plague our communities. By pulling our resources together, we can collectively serve the community through creating partnerships with our neighbors in various neighborhoods.  Through collective bargaining and thinking we can and will strive to develop relationships and create opportunities.

The BPM Community Festival Initiative team will be hosting a total of 25 festivals in communities within and surrounding the Baltimore City/County areas from April through October of 2019.  We are working to establish relationships and partnerships with community associations, organizations and leaders to collaborate with and establish annual festivals that support community needs. In addition, we are working to secure global partnerships with non-profit vendors to address the following services:  Health and Wellness, Human Services, Family Services, Drug Treatment, Mental Health, Economic Services, Bullying, Human Trafficking, Citizen Re-Entry, Expungements…  While this is a targeted list of services, vendor availability will determine which services will be present at each festival.

Should you or someone within your network take interest in participating as a vendor please complete the following application from our website. www.blackprofessionalmen.org/community-festivals

Questions regarding the festivals should be sent to festivals@bpminc.org.

Now in existence for over sixteen years, F.A.C.E. (Freedom Advocates Celebrating ExOffenders) continues to strive to expand its programs and offerings to the community.

The F.A.C.E. (Freedom Advocates Celebrating Ex-Offenders) regularly receives emails and calls from concerned family and friends of incarcerated adults who are due to be released from prison. Thousands of inmates are released each year without access to, or knowledge of, the support networks to help them transition back into society. F.A.C.E. (Freedom Advocates Celebrating Ex-Offenders) program provides linkages to education, rehabilitation, guidance, shelter and reentry support to incarcerated men in prisons and jails throughout the State of Maryland. At the heart of this initiative is our powerful supportive services program, our program offers prison inmates encouragement and the necessary support to take stock of the life experiences that have propelled them into criminal activity, take responsibility for their criminal behavior, change life-long patterns of violence and addiction, and build productive lives. It is our mission to provide supportive service programs to incarcerated youth and adults, to significantly alter their life course. To meet our mission and provide services in our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support. Without the assistance of community-minded individuals just like you, we wouldn't be able to serve those in our community each year.

Supportive housing programming offers participants with assistance in getting jobs, re-uniting with families, getting treatment and recovering from mental health problems. Participation in services is voluntary and is designed to meet the needs of each resident. Support services include: Services Offered F.A.C.E. (Freedom Advocates Celebrating Ex-Offenders) provide a family-like environment, with shared living spaces. Through a caring and stable environment, individuals can learn daily living skills and receive a support network to help them transition back into mainstream society.
• Case management • Educational, vocational and other recovery-oriented services • Medication management and counseling
• Education and Training • Mentoring and support groups
• Linkage to counseling for substance use and mental health issues • Linkage to housing assistance, emergency housing and food assistance • Employment assistance • Strategies for presenting criminal backgrounds to employers • Information on sealing or expunging criminal records • Family reunification and child-support assistance
• Referrals to medical services, mental health care and treatment for drug and alcohol use • Recommendations for other needed services, such as legal support
• Assistance in gaining access to government benefits
F.A.C.E. Strategic Framework
The F.A.C.E. (Freedom Advocates Celebrating Ex-Offenders) has worked with its partners and stakeholders to develop a Strategic Framework – an approach that will transition F.A.C.E to a more outcome-oriented model that focuses on how many people leave better off after receiving F.A.C.E’ services, versus how many people walk through the door. The Strategic Framework consists of a refreshed mission, priorities, and goals, along with a plan for how F.A.C.E. will measure, report on, and review them in the years to come; use them to make decisions; and drive greater collaboration within F.A.C.E. organization. To facilitate this process, F.A.C.E. through its strategic collaboration partnership engaged the Out for Justice, a local non-profit organization that is an ex-offender, member led organization that promotes policy reform of policies that adversely affect the ex-offender re-entering into society successfully. events. F.A.C.E Refreshed Mission Working with community partners, we connect Baltimore ex-offenders to resources that build stability, support their well-being, and empower them to thrive. F.A.C.E Priorities
Deliver and support high quality, innovative, and comprehensive services that empower clients to thrive.
Collaborate with community partners, sister agencies, and public officials on programs and policies that improve ex-offender’s lives and advance systemic change.
Inform the ex-offender of resources available to them through F.A.C.E. and its community partners.
Steward F.A.C.E. resources responsibly and effectively

What is the Strategic Framework? The Strategic Framework consists of a refreshed mission, with priorities and goals within the organization levels that define the primary areas of focus that help F.A.C.E. advance its mission. It also provides approaches for how F.A.C.E will use its mission, priorities, and goals to:
• make decisions and drive greater collaboration within the organization • measure, report on, and refresh outcomes in the years to come
This is different than a Strategic Plan, which typically shares detailed strategies an organization will implement in the short-term (3-5 years). In contrast, the Strategic Framework lays the foundation for how F.A.C.E. will operate in the long-term and provides fundamental principles for guiding decision-making.

The F.A.C.E. (Freedom Advocates Celebrating Ex-Offenders) welcomes the opportunity to meet with you to discuss further how our organization can assist you and the City of Baltimore in providing the necessary linkages to education, rehabilitation, guidance, shelter and reentry support to incarcerated men in prisons and jails throughout the State of Maryland.

Thank you in advance for your support! Sincerely, Marlo A. Hargrove, Sr. Co-Founder-Executive Director 1564 Sheffield Road Baltimore, Maryland 21218 Phone: 410-522-3223 www.facebaltimore.org
