1st Annual CIL Immigration Law Conference
WHO & WHY WE ARE
CIL is a private, by invitation only, Immigration Attorney Organization founded by Neil F. Lewis and Mayra Calo. We are united in a common purpose and respect each other's abilities to work toward that purpose.
CIL is presenting the 1st Annual CIL Immigration Law Conference on February 25, 2017 at the Dwayne O. Andreas School of LawThe event which will feature up to 50 Barry Law Students in order to afford them an opportunity to learn about the field of immigration law and network with established Immigration Attorneys.
The Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law has an impressive record in moot court competitions and produces top notch trial lawyers. In 2014, their Trial Team defeated Harvard and Georgetown to win a National Trial Advocacy Championship. Dean Leticia M. Diaz has been appointed to the ABA Immigration Panel and Law Professor Leonard Birdsong recently received an award for his analysis of U.S. immigration laws.
We could not have asked for a more beautiful, comfortable and technologically advanced venue. Our Conference will be held in the law school's 9,000 square foot Moot Court Building. Each desk in the newly renovated Moot Courtroom features a conveniently located power outlet and two USB charging ports. In addition to an overhead projection system, the room is equipped with two 80” HD Displays at each side of the room.
Just to the side of the Moot Courtroom is a private area for nursing and pumping mothers. Childcare will be available to the first 10 attendees with children between 4 and 8 years old.
This event is unprecedented and will inure to the benefit of the Immigration Advocacy Community, Barry Law Students, and ultimately, those for whom our collective advocacy is sorely required.
