Event description

Description

Join us on May 2 as entrepreneurs, innovators, funders and other interested community members are invited to attend a monthly 1 Million Cups event on Wednesday (typically the first of the month) from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m.

May's theme is Creative Entrepreneurial Ventures – in connection with Massachusetts Art Week, we’re celebrating art and cultural entrepreneurs!

Meet this month's pitching entrepreneurs:

Jonathan Mande is the founder and director of Drums and Wellness, a drum-based education program for community and personal development. Mande is a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo, who grew up in Brookline Massachusetts. He is a senior at Lesley University, with a double major in Education and Psychology, specializing in Expressive Arts Therapy.

The program’s model is consistent in each city: Once a month on a Wednesday morning, two early-stage startups present their companies to an audience of mentors, advisers and other entrepreneurs. Each founder presents for six minutes, followed by a 20-minute question-and-answer session with the audience.

This monthly series will take place at Boston University’s BUild Lab IDG Capital Student Innovation Center, located at 730 Commonwealth Avenue, Brookline, MA 02446.

Questions or interested in being a presenter? Email rspekman@bu.edu.

Can't join us in May? Our next 1 Million Cups will be on June 6th!

Founded by the Kauffman Foundation, 1 Million Cups is based on the notion that entrepreneurs network and discover solutions over a million cups of coffee. The free, monthly gathering helps build startup communities on a grassroots level.
