19th Annual Folsom Lecture in International Business and Trade Law:
The Argentina – United States Legal Relations in the Context of Sovereign Debt Litigation

This lecture will present a brief historical introduction to U.S.-Argentina legal relations—in particular, the influence of the U.S. Constitution on the Argentinean Constitution. It will also discuss the influence of Joseph Story (U.S. Supreme Court, 1812–1845), who served with John Marshall, on both Argentinean public and private law.

The lecture will provide an insight regarding recent cases related to sovereign debt litigation processes and how the U.S. legal system has interacted with the Argentinean legal system in these cases.
