INVITATION TO OUR 19th ANNUAL EVENT
SATURDAY, JUNE 23, 2007
FILM AT 3 P.M. – DINNER AT 6 P.M.
THE RIVERSIDE HOTEL
Conversations about C. G. Jung and his work with
Marie-Louise von Franz
Marie-Louise von Franz first met Carl Jung, then in his fifties, as a teenager, and became one of his closest associates and collaborators as well as a pivotal Jungian analyst and theorist in her own right, said to have interpreted over 65,000 dreams.
In 1977 she gave a major series of filmed interviews, conducted at von Franz’s Tower Retreat in Bollingen, Switzerland by Jungian analyst Suzanne Wagner, Ph.D., that are remarkable for their depth and candor.
In this, the first of the series, von Franz describes her early impressions of Jung and his profound effect upon her psyche, discusses their later collaborative research into alchemy, and delves into a wide range of topics. These include psychic occurrence as the “real reality,” the subtle body, life after death, projection vs. reflection, resolving interpersonal conflicts, and more—including realms beyond the Self that Jung men-tioned privately but chose not to include in his written work because he felt that the world was not yet ready to comprehend them.
These extraordinary reflections are not to be missed by anyone interested in the human psyche and the possibilities for individual and collective consciousness and transformation.
Jungian Analysts Fred Fleischer, M. Div., Santo Tarantino, Ph.D., Danila Crespi, M.A., Rick Overman, Psy.D., Nancy Dougherty, M.S.W., and Judith Moscu, M.A. will present their perspectives on the film and answer questions from the audience.
Please join us for an evening of insight, fellowship, and elegant dining. We look forward to sharing this film, discussion, and cuisine with you and to presenting our exciting plans, hopes, and dreams for the coming year.
