Whether you're a green thumb or just aspiring to learn more about plant conservation, Reflection Riding's native plant nursery and arboretum team can't wait to introduce you to the wonders of the plant world. Help us cure plant blindness; bring a friend!

Habitat restoration is a continuous commitment to nature. On April 25th we are partnering with the<a href="https://www.battlefields.org/parkday?ms=emailpd2260112" title="https://www.battlefields.org/parkday?ms=emailpd2260112" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">&nbsp;American Battlefield Trust’s Park Day</a>&nbsp;clean-up effort. More than 450,000 cumulative hours of labor across the country have been contributed to projects large and small to keep our nation’s heritage not only preserved, but also pristine. Here at Reflection Riding, we will spend time working to restore and preserve through invasive species removal. Help us protect these lands that we love! You’ll learn how to identify and properly remove common invasive plants, in addition to how native species restore the balance of a habitat. After an on-site invasive removal, you can bring the knowledge back into your own space for the rewilding of our region. Invasive species harm wildlife because they crowd out native plants, which provide food and shelter. The Eastern Box Turtle, for example, fails to thrive in areas where Microstegium (an invasive grass) has taken over. By removing harmful species, you help native wildlife and habitats flourish! Participants will receive a 20% discount in our Native Plant Nursery to encourage area-wide restoration. Come prepared for outdoor work—wear closed-toed shoes, long sleeves, pants, and a hat. Don’t forget water, sunscreen, and anything else you need to stay comfortable. We recommend bringing your own work gloves, although we’ll have extras on hand. Important: All participants must sign our <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfWlmXodQjlo3kOpLIBFwxDJxxklbMERWWouXIveOLzDI616A/viewform" title="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfWlmXodQjlo3kOpLIBFwxDJxxklbMERWWouXIveOLzDI616A/viewform" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">general liability waiver</a> before registering. Adults must sign individually, and parents/legal guardians must sign for any participating minors. As an outdoor facility, our programs and events are almost always dependent on the weather. In the event of severe weather, programs may have to be canceled.
