COME CELEBRATE AT THE ACTION CENTER

Honoring those who helped Lift the Community During and After Sandy
Featuring Clips from Academy Award-Winning Filmmaker Josh Fox’s new film, which features the Action Center
Children and Families are welcomed

You are cordially invited to the Action Center for an afternoon of celebration and fundraiser on the third anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. We continue to live our mission of rebuilding and inspiring our community. And we need your help to keep going and to expand. No child should go hungry in the shadow of New York City.

The afternoon will feature:

~A sneak preview of Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Josh Fox's latest film – which features us! Followed by a Q&A with Josh Fox himself.

~Guided tours of the community center. Our staff will share their memories of Sandy and you get to share yours!

~A dedication ceremony honoring heroes of Sandy who have lifted up our community with their leadership.

~Special guest performers we will announce shortly!

~FOOD!

We hope you'll join us for this joyous event.

Three years ago, the Rockaways were devastated. The Action Center, a local non-profit, stepped up and saved people’s lives. Today we provide everything from food and clothing to job training and music classes. We give people hope, get them on their feet and pull them out of poverty.

The Action Center operates on the premise that all parents want the same things for their children regardless of family make-up, orientation, hue, culture, or financial status. With this premise in mind, Our Mission is “to feed and empower those we serve to move beyond the lines of poverty.” Our objective is to move each one of them from where they are when they come to us to some other point along the continuum away from the lines of poverty… and keep moving them as much as we can.
