The 18th Annual Cancer Research Symposium will hear keynote speeches from Dr. Anil Sood, Director of the Ovarian Cancer Program at M.D. Anderson and Dr. Edison Liu, President and CEO of the Jackson Laboratories. These are world-class, NCI designated institutions. The Jackson Laboratories (including JAX-West here in Sacramento) specialize in a wide variety of mice models and collaborate with UC Davis investigators, among others.
Dr. Sood’s research interests include 1) development of new strategies for systemic in vivo siRNA delivery using biocompatible nanoparticles; 2) effect of neuroendocrine stress hormones on ovarian cancer growth and progression; and 3) development of novel anti-vascular therapeutic approaches. Dr. Liu’s research areas include breast cancer, genomics, human genetics, and molecular epidemiology.

Note that abstracts are emailed to email@example.com. Deadlines are September 4 for oral presentations and September 19 for poster presentations, respectfully. However, all attendees (whether submitting abstracts or not) must register.
The conference fee remains $50 for faculty and members of the community, and $20 for post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduates, etc. for payment by check or departmental recharge. Those paying by credit card have modest processing fees added.
Venues: Poster sessions at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel; speakers at the cancer center auditorium. Meeting begins at the cancer center.
