Sexy Intersections: Anti-Oppression and Sex Positivity
Overview
This class helps us all think about the many power dynamics that affect us when we interact in sex-positive community.
This core class has been developed by sexuality non-profit Sex-Positive World for all of us wanting to learn more about how we show up, speak up, and receive feedback from others when we share space together. It’s a good space for beginners who are eager to learn.
We’ll think about our many identities and how they shape our expertise, and the areas where we need to learn and grow. We’ll spend time talking about the inevitable mistakes we make and the ways we hurt each other. Then we'll walk through ways to better handle those hard times when we’ve done things that don’t align with who we think we are.
We’ll center race and gender in the exercises we work on together while learning more about how all aspects of oppression and privilege affect our sex-positive interactions in community. We'll encourage folks from all walks of life to work on perspective-taking from our privileges as well as our oppressions.
This workshop will be facilitated by Erin Tillman and Christine Moyle co-founders of Relational Equity Group (REG). REG is a professional and management development company that specializes in trauma-informed, anti-harassment trainings, inclusivity, belonging, and community-building workshops
