About the film

The real life story of Pelin, a good family girl who decides to kill her mother with the help of her boyfriend Onur. The first half of the film follows the locations of the crime accompanied by the court records of the statements given by Onur, while the second part of the film is a reenactment of the night Pelin and Onur met. A criminal case that turns into a love story, the film is also a way to deal with personal tragedy for the director, who is Pelin’s nephew and was 10 years old at the time the crime took place.

Q&A with Selman Nacar (Producer)

Born in 1990 in Usak, Turkey, Selman is a filmmaker currently pursuing his MFA Film in Directing at Columbia University in New York and teaching a fiction filmmaking course at the same university. He graduated from the faculty of law in Istanbul Bilgi University in 2015 and form the Faculty of Film in 2016. He produced “The Pillar of Salt” in 2018, which premiered at the 68th Berlin Film Festival in Forum Section and “Belonging” in 2019, which premiered at the 69th Berlin Film Festival in Forum Section. He wrote and directed 3 short films, which were awarded at many international film festivals. Selman Nacar is currently working on his debut film Lacuna.
