17th Annual Scottish Masters Athletics Heavy Events World Championships

The Scottish Masters Athletics Heavy Events World Championship is an annual amateur competition. The competition is open to all athletes over 40 year of age with proper qualification as determined by the Scottish Masters Athletics International and the qualifing distances are posted at ScottishMasters.org. The events include stone throws, weight throws, hammer throws, caber toss, sheaf toss, and similar traditional feats of strength in the Scottish Highland Games.
Wait List will begin at 125 entries. Rankings will determine Preliminary Start List.

January - Athlete Application Begins;
February - Primary Start List and Standby List posted on ScottishMasters.org;
March - Non-Refundable Deadline (last chance to withdraw and recieve a refund);
April - Confirm Athlete Entry for Final Start List;
May - Final Start List posted on ScottishMasters.org website;
June 23-25 - Masters World Championships 2017 Iceland Competition.

Are there age requirements to enter the event?
The MWC is open to athletes over age 40 on the day of the event.
What are the events of the competition?
2 Stone Throws, 2 Weight Throws for Distance, 2 Hammer Throws, Caber Toss and Weight Toss.
How many days of competition?
The competition will be held over 2 days
Are there other qualifying requirements to enter the event?
The Qualifying Distances must be satisified for each age group, as outlined at the webpage ->
How do I enter?
All athletes must apply to enter the competition by submiting this registration/entry form, including their qualifying throwing performances and submiting an entry fee.
Will there be on field entries?
No, all athletes must pre-register by this application form and process.
How do I find out if I make the Start List of competitors for MWC 2017?
The list of athletes submitting the entry form during January will be ranked based on their qualifying
performances and the top throwers will make up the Primary Start List as posted on 1 February.
What happens if I don't make the Start List?
The athletes that don't make the Primary Start List during January will be placed on a Standby List and that list will be posted on 1 February, 2017 at the ScottishMasters.org website. Athletes will have until 1 March, 2017 to withdraw and still recieve a refund and if that happens some athletes on the Standby List athletes can move to the Start List. We'll work to get the Standby List sorted and all age groups filled until 1 May, 2017 when the Final Start List will be posted.

The final list of athletes that will take the field of competition at MWC 2017 Iceland.
