The Marion County Children’s Alliance and the Early Learning Coalition of Marion County invites you to attend the 17th Annual Children First Breakfast on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the College of Central Florida, Klein Center.

Mission Readiness is an organization of 700 retired admirals and generals who believe that our national security depends upon educating the youth of today.

Mission Readiness says that 75% of 17 year old’s fail to meet qualifications to enlist in the United States military.

Keynote Speaker: Major General Ronald O. Harrison served 42 years in the Army/Army National Guard. His last assignment for eleven years was as Adjutant General of the State of Florida. For his years of service Governor Rick Scott in 2016 awarded him the Governor’s Medal of Merit.

Major General Harrison will discuss the issues that are causing alarm; the need for high quality early learning programs, failure to graduate high school, criminal records and poor level of physical fitness including obesity.
