Event Details

Fort Worth’s Neighborhood Services Department is hosting the 16th annual Housing Summit. Workshops will include “Home Buying 101: Ready to Buy in Today’s Real Estate Market,” “Obtaining a Mortgage Loan” and “Down Payment Assistance and Homeownership Counseling.” The 16th Annual Housing Summit is sponsored by the City of Fort Worth, Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Fort Worth Housing Solutions.

Workshops are provided at no cost and open to the public.

 Door Prizes will be awarded. Parking is located on the west side of the building. Box lunch and refreshments will be provided to all registered attendees.

Fort Worth’s Neighborhood Services Department

Neighborhood Services consolidates services and programs that focus on building better neighborhoods and improving quality of life for residents. The Neighborhood Services Department encompasses housing, administration of state and federally funded social services programs, public education to increase safety awareness, and neighborhood code compliance and beautification. 

The Neighborhood Services Department administers grant-based programs aimed at beautifying and strengthening Fort Worth neighborhoods. The City currently receives approximately $11 million per year in funding through HUD Entitlement Programs such as CDBG, ESG, HOME, and HOPWA. The City also receives approximately $12 million per year in State of Texas funding through programs such as the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP), Low Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program (LEHEAP), Weatherization Assistance Program, State Energy Conservation Office (SECO), Texas Association of Community Action Agencies (TACAA), Texas Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and Texas Department of Agriculture Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).

Neighborhood Services has approximately 162 employees and a total budget of more than $50 million.
