Event description

Description

Greetings from your friends at the Pajaro Valley Community Health Trust!

On Friday, March 29, 2019, the Pájaro Valley Community Health Trust (Health Trust) will present its 16th Annual Diabetes Forum: Plant-Based Eating Patterns for Diabetes.

The Forum is a half-day event on a timely, relevant aspect of diabetes prevention and/or disease management presented by a keynote speaker and an interactive panel of presenters, with sufficient time for participant - presenter Q&A. We have applied for CME and CEU benefits for eligible participants.

In response to community interest, this year's event will feature Meghan Jardine, MS, MBA, RD, LD, CDE from Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, who will speak to common myths and facts about various popular diets, while explaining the benefits of a plant-based diet for individuals living with chronic illnesses such as type-2 diabetes, obesity, and hypertension. A panel of local nonprofit representatives will discuss and share strategies to support healthy nutrition habits for children and families, including successes, challenges, and lessons learned through their work in the Pajaro Valley. Participants will leave with simple nutritional principles to apply to address their own (and/or their clients') health needs, goals and lifestyle.

We hope you can join us!
