The Cancer Prevention Institute of California (CPIC) is holding its 16th Annual Breast Cancer Conference: The Current Breast Cancer Landscape in the Bay Area for newly diagnosed, long-term survivors, caregivers, family members, health care professionals, and others whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. It will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Golden Gate Club, The Presidio in San Francisco. The conference format includes a general session in the morning and eight afternoon breakout sessions. This program provides information about recent trends in breast cancer incidence in the Bay Area; current and new treatments; DCIS; genetics and family risk; patient health navigators; fertility and family planning; supportive care: why it is important to care for your mind, body and soul; personal story from a young survivor; estate planning; nutrition and lifestyle strategies to reduce breast cancer; and a new session: Networking to address breast cancer disparities: Learning from Researchers, Community Advocates, and Survivors.
Objective: Assist participants to understand treatment options and make informed decisions about their breast health and health care.
