16 Hr. CCAR Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches (Feb 16, 17, 19)

Maintaining the integrity and professionalism of the Recovery Coach and Peer Advocate professions is a key priority of NYCB (New York Certification Board) and OASAS (Office of Addiction Services and Supports).

As the profession evolves, it is critical that those supporting others in their recovery follow a set of professional standards and principles. This workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to the ethical considerations for recovery coaches/peer advocates, satisfying the Ethics Competency requirements for CRPA and CARC Certifications.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand what ethics are and why ethics are so important when performing recovery coach services
• Learn how to stay in your lane as a recovery coach
• Understand the decision-making process
• Develop guidelines for making ethical decisions
• Practice and apply the new learning to your everyday work as a recovery coach
