About this event

What is our mission?

Our youth court programs can shift the culture of school discipline and youth justice by creating effective restorative and trauma-informed alternatives. We aim to use our platform to engage the next generation, breaking the cycle of reinforced institutionalized discrimination. Time and again, we have witnessed the positive transformation of youth who have learned to exercise authentic agency in their lives, take leadership in their communities, and support other young people in need. We need a transformative discipline and juvenile justice system that is not contradictory to a struggling teen’s overall needs for acceptance and successful development.

Who Should Attend?

In short, everyone! The virtual summit is designed for youth; adult allies are encouraged to listen and learn in partnership with young people. We are opening up the summit to a national audience this year. To advance our mission of equity, there will be no charge to attend.

Conference Highlights:

Engaging students and adults in partnership from across the United States, we are providing fully online interactive workshops and keynote presentations from California Secretary of State Shirley Weber Ph.D. and San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin. Additionally, we will have breakout sessions designed to encourage discussion and collaboration across communities.

Some of the confirmed workshops at our summit include:

  • Implementing trauma-informed restorative accountability mechanisms
  • Empowering Students to Stop Sexual Violence
  • Promoting an agenda of racial equity in your program
  • Understanding your rights in schools and with the police
  • Promoting positive mental health and outlining coping mechanisms
  • How to establish a restorative justice program as a young person
