Description

Take a step on the wooly side and join us Saturday, April 27th from 10am-4pm for Greenbank Mills & Philips Farm’s 15th annual Shearing Day & Herb Sale!

Witness living history with the shearing of our heritage sheep throughout the day as we ready them for the warmer weather! Learn colonial skills as we demonstrate hand processing from sheep to shawl, including natural dyeing and spinning. Want a take home? We are offering custom printed t-shirts for sale, and would love to give you the option of having your shirt (with choice of two unique Greenbank designs!) dyed for no extra charge. Tshirts are $15/ea. Knead some yeast action? Our bread oven will be fired up for succulent colonial bread baking demonstrations. Guided tours of our historic mill will be available and as well as our newest exhibit displayed in the Philips House.

Every year we also have a wonderful selection of Amish-grown herbs available for purchase, so come get a head start on your garden with us! We have a variety of our wonderful herbs available for purchase during the event.

After such a warm reception last year we will be having live music throughout the day again! First up is Seven Rings out of Wilmington, DE, from 10 am -1 pm with a focus on Irish music and classic rock. Then hitting the stage from 1-4pm Chapel Street Junction . Chapel Street Junction is a five piece band based in Newark, DE, focusing on bluegrass and Irish Folk music. All music will be played acoustic; musical performances are generously sponsored by Sun East Federal Credit Union. Food will be available for purchase. The Hungry Spork and SwampTown Food Truck, will be serving up their delicious dishes. Like craft beer? We have Delaware's newest brewery Wilmington Brew Works serving their delicious brews for purchase! Need to pick up some mother's day gifts? We're sure that @MarjoramsPlace has just the thing! Stay tuned for updates on other fun vendors!
