RIVER RIDE RENDEZVOUS VIP EVENT - FRIDAY, JULY 22nd, 6-8 PM, DUSTY BOOT BEAVER CREEK
It just keeps getting better! In partnership with the Roadhouse Hospitality Group, join SOS for the River Ride Rendezvous VIP kickoff event with two premier athletes in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the ride.
WHAT: River Ride Rendezvous VIP Kickoff Event
WHEN: Friday, July 22nd, 6-8 PM
WHERE: Dusty Boot in the heart of Beaver Creek Village
Meet 3-time consecutive Boston Marathon winner, Uta Pippig and the reigning XTERRA World Champion, Josiah Middaugh to learn more about how they're making waves in the lives of youth and raise support for SOS Outreach.
Josiah Middaugh, professional triathlete, reigning XTERRA World Champion and recent GoPro Games Ultimate Mountain Challenge champ, competes in national and worldwide events in addition to coaching other endurance athletes alongside his brother. Ranging from beginner to advanced trainees, Josiah spreads his love of endurance athletics and enthusiasm for the outdoors with others. Bill Cotton, SOS board member and President of Wheatridge-based Optic Nerve Eyewear, recently shared, "Being involved with organizations like SOS is what makes working in the outdoor industry so rewarding. Seeing athletes like Josiah at the pinnacle of their careers engage with their communities and encourage others to find joy in the outdoors makes us proud to play a part in it all."
Uta Pippig shattered barriers as the first female to win three consecutive Boston Marathons, and clinched the titles at the New York City Marathon in addition to three Berlin marathons. In the process, she won the world over with her smile and the kisses she blew to the crowds on her way to the finish line. Now, Uta channels the joy, passion, and discipline she brought to world-class competition into her work with Take The Magic Step Foundation, an organization that helps bring health and fitness programs to youth. A long time supporter of SOS Outreach and a participant in the River Ride, Uta is an inspiration to all athletes, regardless of age and ability.
In addition to the meet and greet opportunity with Uta and Josiah, attendees will discover the Faces of SOS project, a gallery style exhibition of the impact of SOS. To round out the celebration, Dusty Boot’s sister restaurant, The Metropolitan will serve heavy apps and drinks alongside a silent auction.
