Tai Chi for Rehabilitation (TCR) is a safe, efficient therapeutic exercise appropriate for all patients throughout their rehabilitation process. TCR can be used across a variety of settings and diagnoses.
TCR is created by physician Dr. Paul Lam and is approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Tai Chi has a growing body of medical research with significant findings, proving efficacy as an evidence based practice.

- Apply Tai Chi movement forms for rehabilitation through varied diagnoses and deficits
- Modify and apply Tai Chi forms across a variety of clinical settings
- Identify accessible movement patterns for improving balance and strength
- Apply Tai Chi movement forms toward improved ADL function and safety
- Appropriately modify Tai Chi forms to various disabilities and movement restrictions
- Teach simple Tai Chi forms effectively as part of HEP

What is the start and end time for each day?
Each day starts at 8am and ends at 5:30pm. We try to take a late lunch; around 1 or 1:30pm. Morning and afternoon breaks (with snacks) are provided. Please bring your own water bottle.
I'm coming from out of town. Is there a hotel nearby? If you require lodging, hotels with event discounts will be provided in your confirmation email.
What do I wear? Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move easily in. Also wear tennis shoes or other shoes that offer support but do not inhibit your movement. No sandals, flip flops, etc.
Do I have to be in great shape for this? No. This form of excercise is attainable to all. You can even do it seated if you need.

Does this course count for PTA and OTA continuing education credit? Yes.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable? Yes. If you wish to transfer your ticket to someone else, it is imperative that you let us know so we can record their attendance and print an accurate certificate. It's best to email us at the above email address.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No.
What is the refund policy? You have two weeks prior to the workshop to cancel for any reason with a full refund minus processing fee of $15. After two weeks, there is no refund but you can transfer your ticket to another person, or apply it to a future Handy Learning event.
What if I lose my certificate after the course? There is a $25 administration fee for replacement certificates. So file it away carefully please! We don't enjoy spending time sending replacement certificates. (We rather be doing Tai Chi! :-)
I have a special need such as hearing/vision/physical impairment. Can you provide accomodations? Yes, we will do our best to accomodate any special need. Just let us know in advance, please.
Unfortunately we are unable to accomodate special dietary needs. You are encouraged to bring your own snacks if you have a special diet.
An enrolled participant may cancel their registration up to two weeks prior for a full refund. Less than two weeks, the participant can transfer their registration to another workshop, or to another person without penalty. There are NO refunds two weeks prior to the workshop.
Handy Learning, Inc. reserves the right to cancel a workshop at any point and will not be held responsible for any damages or financial loss incurred due to cancellation. If a workshop is cancelled, Handy Learning, Inc. will offer a full refund to registrants, or upon request, a transfer of registration to another Handy Learning, Inc. workshop.
