14th Annual Race For Grace

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Race For Grace and its beneficiary Foundation are named after Grace Elizabeth Ekis, a precious 5-year-old girl who fought a courageous 13-month battle with a rare cancerous brain tumor called diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). DIPG is an inoperable tumor of the brainstem for which there is no known cure and there have been no significant advances in treatment options for more than 35 years. Affecting primarily children, it is the rarest and worst of all pediatric brain tumors. Approximately 150 to 200 children are diagnosed with this type of tumor each year and survival time is typically just nine to twelve months from diagnosis. Grace journeyed to Heaven on Valentine’s Day 2008.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Opening activities begin at 7:00AM, with the race beginning at 9:00AM. We encourage you to register prior to April 4, 2022 to ensure you will receive a race t-shirt. However, we will also accept registrants from 7:00-8:00AM on race day. Extra t-shirts will be ordered, but supplies may be limited. Be sure to arrive early to partake in pre-race entertainment and warm-up. Breakfast will be available at the concession stand starting at 7:00AM. After the race, there will be an award ceremony, many fun indoor children’s activities, charitable hair donations, dance performances, basket raffle and silent auction, and full concession stand of lunch items available for purchase. The day’s events will conclude around 1:00PM. We look forward to seeing you on April 9, 2022!

Please Note: Eventbrite charges an additional fee of 5% + $0.99 per online registration transaction. This fee does not benefit Reflections Of Grace, but rather covers the cost of Eventbrite’s administrative services.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

The success of this event would not be possible without the several hundred volunteers who freely share their time and talent. Help is needed with a variety of tasks during the race. If you would like to volunteer on race day, please email RaceForGrace@reflectionsofgrace.org.

TEAM INSTRUCTIONS 

• Individuals -- Click on the "As an individual" button to register and pay.
• Team Captains -- Click on the “As a team member" button first. Next click “Create your team”. Enter your team name and click “Create a team”. Once created, click on “Register” and register yourself and pay. As the team captain, you may also access the “Manage your team” button.
• Team Members -- Click on the “As a team member” button to register. Type in your team name and click “Continue”. If you are unable to join your team or do not see your team’s name, contact your team captain to make sure the team has already been created and that you are spelling the name correctly. Once you have successfully joined your team, click “Register”, follow the instructions, and pay.

HELPFUL TIPS

• Be sure to select the correct t-shirt size, as there are ADULT and YOUTH options.
• At the end of the registration process, only click "complete registration" once or you may be charged multiple times.
• If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of completing your registration, check your credit card. If no fees were charged, your registration did not process correctly. Please try again.
• Remember, registration can be completed using a Smartphone!
• As a reminder, according to the Norwin School District policy, animals are not permitted on campus grounds.
