Event description

Description

Hydrocephalus is an abnormal accumulation of spinal fluid in the brain, and the most common treatment is insertion of a shunt to divert the spinal fluid to another part of the body. More than 700 walkers representing local families, schools, corporations and organizations are expected to mobilize for the 14th Annual Hydrocephalus Association (HA) Denver WALK to End Hydrocephalus. HA is the largest non-profit dedicated solely to hydrocephalus in the world. The event will take place Sunday, September 3 at 10AM at Redstone Park, Highlands Ranch. In addition to a 3-mile walk, this family event includes food, face painting, a balloon twister, a raffle-style auction, and the opportunity to meet families from all over Colorado living with the challenges of hydrocephalus. Money raised will support the HA’s national goal to raise more than $2.1 million for critical hydrocephalus research and program services.
