Join us for a dynamic day of learning, networking, and idea-sharing with Central Texas funders and nonprofits, presented by the Grant Professionals Association & the ACC Center for Nonprofit Studies! This year's theme is Grants and the Art of Storytelling. Also, we want to say a big thank you to our sponsors: St. David's Foundation and Giving City Austin!

We have more than a dozen funders participating so far, and many more are still being added!

9:00-9:50am: Panel Discussion 1, Effective Message-crafting for Cultivation: Insights from Grant Makers
Panelists: Berenice Torregrossa from The Moody Foundation, Linda McDavitt from The Genevieve & Ward Orsinger Foundation, Heather Venard from Silicon Labs, and Robin Bradford, Principal of Robin Bradford Communications and Association of Fundraising Professionals Austin Chapter President. Moderated by Lisa Bussett, Coordinator at the ACC Center for Nonprofit Studies.

10:05-10:55am: Panel Discussion 2, Telling your story with data
Panelists: Mary Riggs from the Andy Roddick Foundation, Reyda Taylor, Senior Consultant for Data and Evaluation at Mission Capital, and Richard Bixler from the UT RGK Center's CONNECT Program. Moderated by Darcy Rendon, Director of Grants at LifeWorks and GPA Austin-Central Texas Chapter President.

GPA’s Signature Giving Star Award, honoring an outstanding member of the philanthropic community for their individual contributions of time, talent, and treasure to improving Central Texas.

11:15-12:15pm: Keynote Presentation by Kate Robinson: "Failing Forward: Why identifying failure means your organization is doing things right"

Social sector strategist and filmmaker Kate Robinson explores the possibilities of celebrating non-profit program failures as necessary steps toward measurable, sustainable social impact. With help from her film, Failing Forward (premiering at the Austin Film Society Cinema May 15, 2019) Kate will demonstrate the value of transparent funding and grantee relationships, curiosity about relevant internal data, and capacity to identify shortcomings to improve client outcomes. 12:15-1:00pm Lunch & networking; stop by the Mission Capital membership table!

1:00-3:30pm: Relationship Relays, small, 25-minute roundtable discussions with Central Texas funders
Participants: AMD, Applied Materials Foundation, Austin Community Foundation, Bank of America Foundation, Carl C. Anderson Sr. and Marie Jo Anderson Foundation, City of Austin Grant for Technology Opportunities Program, Greater Texas Foundation, The Moody Foundation, Summer Learning Investment Hub, Texas Commission on the Arts, Texas Gas, and more still being added.

Morning coffee, a hot breakfast, and a boxed lunch are included in the ticket price. Please let us know if you have any dietary needs.
