May is Elder Abuse Awareness month, and Adult Protective Services will be hosting our 14th Annual Older American’s Month Conference.  We are bringing together professionals from the Houston area community for a day of training, networking and exchanging ideas that benefit vulnerable adults. This year’s conference will highlight community solutions to homelessness, poverty and self-neglect of older adults and individuals with disabilities in the Houston and surrounding areas.

There were over 23,000 cases of abuse, neglect and exploitation reported to Adult Protective Services for Harris County and the surrounding 12 counties in 2018.  The training and education provided at this event will create an awareness for issues facing vulnerable adults in our community and discuss solutions to such problems.
