About this event

This Earth Day, the Sustainability Office Film Series is happy to present the screening of The Need to GROW!

Watch the movie on your own, and then join us for an hour-long discussion and Q&A with Environmental Studies Professor Stacy Philpott and film director/producer/cinematographer/editor Ryan Wirick on Zoom.

Once registered, you will watch the movie on your own, prior to Q&A event, using the viewing link provided in the online event page. You will be able to watch until 1pm PDT on April 22nd.

Then, please join us on April 22nd from 3:30pm-4:30pm PDT for the live Zoom Q&A event (invitation will be sent on April 22nd prior to event).

The Need To GROW takes you inside the hearts and innovations of three very different leaders — an 8-year-old girl challenges the ethics of a beloved organization — a renegade farmer struggles to keep his land as he revolutionizes resource-efficient agriculture — and an accomplished visionary inventor faces catastrophe in the midst of developing a game-changing technology. Narrated by Rosario Dawson (Marvel’s The Defenders, The Lego Batman Movie), The Need To GROW delivers an epic story of solutions and the struggle to implement them. You can watch the trailer here.
