Event description

Description

Augustana Diversity & Inclusion office, Netflix, and Establishing Sustainable Connections (ESC) present a FREE screening of Ava DuVernay's vital documentary 13TH on Sunday December 18th, 2016.

In a nation where 1 in 3 black men can expect to go to prison in their life, 13TH digs into how America’s politics, corporate structure, police militarization, media culture and legal system have conspired for over 150 years to imprison African-Americans in second-class-citizen status.

This public exhibition of the film will take place at the Augustana University, Kresge Hall in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm on Sunday December 18th. A panel discussion with Civil Rights Advocates, and college professors will follow the screening.

Reserve your seat in advance - we expect a packed house!
