Mending the Village: Fixing holes and filling cups to promote healthy relationships in schools and the community

Dr. Tori Stone, PhD | George Mason University

Positive, connected relationships between children and adults make s safer places to learn and grow. In an ideal world, every community would be full of mentally healthy adults who facilitate learning with love and logic and who can always maintain perfect perspective and calm.

In reality, educators are human beings doing a difficult job each day. Fortunately, there are professionals in our community who work to support those who teach our children. Our counselors, social workers, mental health care providers and nurses play a critical role in supporting the mental health of all stakeholders in our schools.
This presentation will provide an overview of concepts that can be easily taught to the adults who serve our children in order to improve relationships, and ultimately school climate.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the program starting at 9 a.m.
