Gulf Coast Kayak presents: The 13th Annual Calusa Blueway Kayak Fishing Tournament
Using only the catch, photo, & release method to score fish this tournament is set to become the premier paddlesport fishing tournament here in SWFL and is expected to draw upwards of 80 plus anglers to our local communities and waterways along the Great Calusa Blueway Paddling Trail of Lee County!
This year the event will benefit Candlelighters of Southwest Florida whose mission is to provide support, education and assistance to families of children with cancer or blood disorders. Candlelighters serves approximately 550 families in a five county area-Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, and Glades-providing support, education and advocacy to children as well as the professionals that care for them. This event will feature a one-day fishing competition for anglers to catch, photo, and release snook, redfish, seatrout. All fishing must ONLY be done in Lee County out of a non-motorized paddlecraft and All competitors must ONLY use a launch open to the public within Lee County.
The Captain's Meeting will be held Friday November 11th at PointYBel Brewing Company in Ft. Myers at 7pm. Attendance at the captain's meeting is MANDATORY for all contestants. Doors open at 6pm for social hour & Early Registration. Spouses and family are welcome to attend Captain's Meeting.
Weigh-In will be held at The Olde Fish House Marina in Matlacha on Saturday November 12th.
All competitors must be 18 years or older or accompanied by a parent or guardian. All fishing will be “catch, photo, and release” and will take place in Lee County, Florida.

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the 13th Annual Calusa Blueway Kayak Fishing Tournament or related events and activities, the undersigned agrees to the following:
I acknowledge and fully understand that I will be engaging in activities that involve risk of damage to personal property, or serious injury, including permanent disability and death, and severe social and economic losses which might result not only from my own actions, inactions or negligence, but the actions, inactions or negligence of others, as a result of kayaking, fishing, wading in the water and swimming, including but not limited to perils of sea and waterways, acts of other participants, adverse sea and weather conditions, and I hereby assume complete responsibility and liability for such risks. Further, there may be other risks not known or not reasonably foreseeable at this time. I do hereby release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Gulf Coast Watersports LLC and the 13th Annual Calusa Blueway Kayak Fishing Tournament, its directors, agents, employees, sponsors or any other individual in any way associated with the 13th Annual Calusa Blueway Kayak Fishing Tournament, all of which are hereinafter referred to as 'releasees', from any and all liability to me, my heirs and next of kin for any and all claims, demands, losses or damages on account of injury, including death or damage to property, caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence or any other actions of the releasees or otherwise.I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the releasees or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation.I certify that my physical condition and training are adequate to enable me to compete safely in the 13th Calusa Blueway Kayak Fishing tournament events. I hereby grant full permission to Gulf Coast Watersports LLC and the 13th Annual Calusa Blueway Kayak Fishing Tournament any and all of the sponsors of this event or their representatives to use any photographs, video, or any other records of this event for any purpose whatever. All prizes may be subject to federal and/or state taxes. Gulf Coast Watersports LLC and the 13th Annual Calusa Blueway Kayak Fishing Tournament assumes no responsibility for winner's’ failure to report awarded prizes to the appropriate taxing authorities.This waiver may not be modified in any way. If any part of this waiver is determined to be invalid by law, all other parts of this waiver shall remain valid and enforceable.I hereby warrant and represent that I am over 18 years of age and have signed this waiver, release of liability and covenant not to sue freely and voluntarily. I hereby warrant and represent that i am the parent or legal guardian for the named participant, and that I have signed this waiver, release of liability and covenant not to sue freely and voluntarily in my capacity as their parent or legal guardian on the their behalf. I have read the above waiver, release of liability and covenant not to sue and initialed each and every paragraph thereto, and understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it, and signed it freely and voluntarily by submitting an entry to this tournament.
