12th Ireland Sacred Harp Convention
Overview
Welcome to the 12th Ireland Convention!
Come join us at Greenmount National School on Sat 28th February and Sun 1st March 2026 for the 12th Ireland Convention. This is a ticket-only event as due to space restrictions we will not be able to welcome those who arrive without pre-registration.
By registering for a ticket, you confirm you will abide by the covid precautions and the general code of conduct for the singing (found below).
Please note that while a light lunch will be provided, we encourage singers to bring their own lunch to eat communally. There are no auxiliary singings or events surrounding this weekend.
Covid Mitgations:
All singers should have a negative antigen test result on morning of each day they intend to come singing.
If you feel in any way unwell, exhibit any COVID related symptoms, live or have been in contact with a COVID positive person test in the 5 days prior to singing, or have had a positive test in the 5 days prior to singing, please stay home.
If you have a positive test within 5 days after a singing, please notify us at corksacredharp@gmail.com.
Masks are not required for singing, but singers are welcome to wear masks if they so wish. We will be singing in a hollow square; however singers are welcome to sit outside the square.
Code of Conduct:
The 12th Ireland Convention brings together singers for a weekend of fellowship and singing. We, the Sacred Harp Singers of Cork, want to facilitate a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone, that values participation regardless of age, religion (or lack thereof), singing experience, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, nationality, education, ability, or socio-economic status. We want our singing spaces and community to be built upon a culture of support and consent, with no tolerance for harassment or the abuse of power in any form.
Building this environment at our singings is everyone’s responsibility, both at the singing and throughout the weekend. We look forward to singing and working together to construct and maintain our community by seeking consent in our interpersonal interactions, being aware of how we share spaces and time, and respecting the boundaries of each other’s engagement and comfort.
