Detroit's Premier conference for the Black Age of Comics Convention was held at the Shrine of the Black Madonna Cultural Center, located 13535 Livernois Avenue Detroit, Michigan 48238 on February 07, 2009... Motor City Black Age has continued to follow the tradition that was set forth by the Father of the Black age of comics movement Turtel Onli of Onli Studios, as well as the East Coast Black Age of Comics est. May 2002 by Yumy Odum and Maurice Waters. We are STILL going strong. We have SUCCESSFULLY established another Black age movement which coincides with the other two Black Age Events. 2009 was the start of an annual event in Detroit, Michigan. This is a gathering for black creators and fans from all walks of life to meet and learn from each other. The Motor City Black Age is the movement of an annual gathering of comic book creators and retailers who create and sell material that caters to readers of all ages.
