11th Annual PHAT Conference
Sat, March 25, 2017, 7:45 AM – 3:00 PM EDT
The PHAT (Promoting Health Active Teens) Conference is held annually in the month of March to bring awareness to teen health issues and highlight national nutrition. The mission of the conference is to promote healthy lifestyles, fitness and nutrition by providing the tools necessary to build healthy communities. This is accomplised by providing innovative workshops and interactive activities that provide teens (and parents) information and support to develop wellness and fitness. The event is presented annually by the Cooper-Mercer Institute (CMI), which supports community programs and projects for underserved members of the community.
The PHAT Conference was created in 2006 by teens representing communities across the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Planning and coordination of the event is coordinated by teens with adult advisors.
