Come celebrate the World's Borough and Jackson Heights with "111 Places in Queens That You Must Not Miss," written by Joe DiStefano and photographed byClay Williams, along with local artist Joel Weber whose exhibit “Chateau Garden” graces the walls of Espresso 77. Weber’s landscape photography offers a beautiful perspective on the gardens of the historic Chateau constructed in 1923 by Andrew J. Thomas.
Not only is Jackson Heights the most diverse part of the world’s borough—with everything from secret Tibetan restaurants to Nepalese tattoo parlors—it’s also steeped in history from the Jackson Heights Historic District to the birthplace of Scrabble. DiStefano and Williams will share their finds in Jackson Heights and beyond. Landscape photographer Weber who’s lived in The Chateau since 1992 has enduring fascination with its garden and will be on hand to discuss his work.
"111 Places in Queens That You Must Not Miss" is the newest title in the 111 Places guidebook series for locals and experienced travelers, published by Emons Verlag.
From Anthony Bourdain: "Queens is arguably the most fascinating and under-appreciated borough of New York, an impossibly complex matrix that reflects the culture and cuisine of the entire world. Joe DiStefano does a tremendous service to visitors and New Yorkers alike, highlighting some of the tastiest, funkiest, weirdest and most spectacular places."
Come celebrate, enjoy some local treats, and pick up an autographed copy! Many thanks to our friends at Lockwood Jackson Heights for their support.
