Event Details

Introduction

We are excited to invite you to the inaugural 10x Genomics Scientific Symposium, taking place 2nd-3rd June 2020, at the Borsen Stock Exchange in Copenhagen, Denmark! Day One features many exciting presentations from leaders in their fields, a sample preparation workshop, and an evening social event. Day Two will switch to data analysis with 3 levels of workshops, each requiring separate registration.

Join us at our 10x Genomics Scientific Symposium and learn how our products have led to fundamental discoveries across multiple areas of biology, including cancer, immunology, and neuroscience.

  • Four juniors researchers (PhD students/early PostDocs) will win a 500 euro travel award to cover their attendance
  • Enter our Scientific Challenge to win free kits for your projects! Please scroll down for more information
  • Book 1:1 meetings with our 10x-perts
  • Visit our troubleshooting stations for expert advice
  • Talk to our partner companies about their solutions that can support your single cell and spatial experiments.

Progress in the life sciences will require the ability to measure biological systems in a much more comprehensive fashion at the right resolution and scale. The complexity of biology requires technologies that allow researchers to experiment on biological systems at previously inaccessible scales. The Chromium and Visium product lines from 10x Genomics provide important improvements in resolution and scale along distinct but complementary dimensions of biology. Our Chromium products enable high-throughput analysis of individual biological components, such as single cells. Our Visium products enable analysis of biological molecules within their spatial context, providing localization information on the analytes that give insight into higher order biological structure and function.

Utilizing our sensitive and robust molecular assays to convert biological analytes into detectable signals, researchers are able to obtain vast amounts of information about diverse biological characteristics together with their single cell and spatial context.

Sample Preparation Workshop and Open Discussion

Single cell analysis and spatial transcriptomics are powerful techniques to characterize complex tissue types, identify rare cell populations, uncover regulatory relationships between genes, track cell trajectories and enhance pathological annotation of disease tissue. From sample handling and tissue dissociation or sectioning to cell separation and enumeration, there are a number of technical considerations that influence data quality for 10x assays. In this workshop will explore critical sample preparation decisions and considerations for assay design and optimization.

  • Sample preparation tips for single cell sequencing and spatial transciptomics
  • Sample collection and handling logistics
  • Tissue dissociation highlights and factors to consider
  • Cell separation and enumeration
  • Tissue preparation for spatial transcriptomics

Social Mixer

There will be a Social Evening planned tentatively between 19:00 - 22:00 on the 2nd of June. If you are interested to attend, please opt for that in the registration question section.

Wednesday 3rd of June 2020| 9.00 - 16.00

Workshop 1: Getting Started with Chromium Single Cell Gene Expression Data Analysis

This all-day training workshop will provide you with hands-on experience interacting with data from the Chromium Single Cell Gene Expression solution. Exercises will include processing sequencing data with Cell Ranger, performing basic data QC, exploring your results with Loupe Browser and using Seurat for advanced analysis. By the end of the workshop, participants will acquire a basic understanding of generating and interpreting single cell gene expression data.

Academic and industry researchers are all welcome to attend. No prior experience with bioinformatics or analyzing single cell gene expression data is required, though some familiarity with the Linux command-line and R programming language may be beneficial.

Available Seats : 20
Selection Criteria: Selection will be based on submission of an abstract of up to 100 words describing how your research would benefit from this workshop. Please send your abstracts to marketingemea@10xgenomics.com

Deadline for submissions: 24th March
Results: Successful candidates will be notified via mail by the 31st of March
