Description

The Civil Rights Hall of Fame seeks to acknowledge outstanding Ohioans who are recognized as pioneers in human and civil rights and who have advanced the goals of equality and inclusion, inductees of the Ohio Civil Rights Hall of Fame are individuals who have made significant contributions in support of civil rights, cultural awareness and understanding in furtherance of a more just society. The honor bestowed on this select group of civil rights heroes will be officially recorded in Ohio's history.

The Ohio Civil Rights Commission (OCRC), along with sponsors Wright State University, Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc. and PNC, will host the Tenth Annual Ohio Civil Rights Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The program will consist of a formal ceremony that will honor men and women who have made significant contributions to the progress of civil rights and equal justice in the State of Ohio.

The event is free and all members of the public are invited to attend the induction ceremony and a reception to be held in the Ohio Statehouse Rotunda immediately following the ceremony.

What parking is available?

Unfortunately, this event does not have designated parking. Parking around the Ohio Statehouse can be difficult to find and guests are urged to build in plenty of time to find parking. The Ohio Statehouse Parking Garage is open to the public, but often fills up early. There are several other parking garages, surface parking lots, and metered parking options around Capitol Square.

What can I bring into the event?

The Ohio Statehouse has strict security protocols, including metal detectors and x-ray machines. All weapons and other dangerous materials are prohibited. Please allow extra time to get through security. For more information, visit the Ohio Statehouse Website Security Page.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, this event is free and open to the public. RSVPs are recommended, but tickets are not necessary.

Will I have a reserved seat?

Unfortunately, reserved seating is extremely limited. However, event volunteers will attempt to seat all guests if possible.
