HISTORY
Matt St. James is a 2003 Churchville-Chili High School graduate. He graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College in 2007 with a degree in Social Work. As an undergraduate, Matthew was a top runner on the Cross Country and Track teams for four years. He was out running every day, giving it his all, running for the glory of God. On March 14, 2007, Matt was running at practice on the outdoor track when he had cardiac arrest with a brain injury as a result. After spending over 3 years at Monroe Community Hospital, he is now living at home. Matt has come a long way since that day. God is doing a mighty work in Matt.

HOW YOU'VE HELPED!

As a group over the years, we have accomplished bringing Matt home, purchasing a van, and donating heart rate monitors to the Churchville-Chili Cross Country team and purchasing a race chair!.

This running event will help with care expenses and other items to fit Matt’s needs. Also, Starting this year, we will be making a donation to the Churchville-Chili James B Francis and Andrea Kofahl memorial scholarship awards! Donations will be accepted for Matt St.James or the scholarship awards . It’s a great opportunity to come together and show our support to Matt St.James and the Francis and Kofahl families.

The James B. Francis Jr. Award and the Andrea Kofahl Memorial Award go to runners who demonstrate sportsmanship, dedication and character as part of the Churchville Chili running programs. These awards are given annually at the sports banquet and include a scholarship check and plaque.

5K COURSE INFO: On the Roberts Wesleyan College trails at 10 a.m. Walkers will start at 10 a.m. as well. Please line up behind runners.Course Map: athletics.roberts.edu/RaceInfo

KIDS RUN: 1K run - Beginning at the completion of the 5k - Free (tshirt not included, but can be purchased)

5K ENTRY FEE: $15 per person pre-registration (through August 10); $20 per person August 11 through day of race

Note: Runners and Walkers who wish to collect pledges may do so and those who collect $50 or more your entry fee will be waived.

AWARDS: There will be awards for the 5K!

The RWC Senior class of 2009 gave a gift to Matt; the Roberts Wesleyan College Cross Country trails have been Named in Recognition of Matthew St. James! Come on out to RWC and see the sign!!

Email MattStJames5K@gmail.com if you need a pledge sheet. Bring your pledge sheet with you to the registration table. Runners/Walkers who raise at least $50 will have their registration fee waived.

Participants that pre-register for the 5K/walk will be guaranteed a free T-shirt. Those who sign up after pre-registration will receive a T-shirt as long as available. T-shirts will also be sold for $12.

At checkout you will be asked to sign an Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk form.. If participant is under 18, a parent or guardian will also have to sign.
