Join the Legacy Arts Project for the 10th Annual Keepers of the Flame Awards. We will honor community members who have helped to shape and sustain the culture of the African Diaspora in Pittsburgh.
Dessie Bey, Harry Clark, Bob Daniels, John Ford, Roland Ford, Mayota Hill and Macharia McCoy are our distinguished 2016 honorees.
Each honoree has contributed something unique to the lives of their fellow Pittsburghers. Through dance, art, literature and performance their gifts continue to uplift the spirit of creativity within all of us.
We will begin the evening with a reception at 7:00pm
The awards ceremony will begin at 8:00pm

The mission of the Legacy Arts Project, Inc. is to preserve the history and traditions of African art as represented throughout the diaspora through education, instruction and interactions. The organization strives to share the presentation of art throughout the community in order to inspire the upliftment of individuals within the urban neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.

The Legacy Arts Project, Inc. (LAP) is a non-profit community arts organization committed to the preservation and continuation of arts throughout the African diaspora. By way of dance, music, visual, written and spoken word arts, the LAP serves as a conduit for artists and the community as a whole to experience a wide array of art forms.
